Topic One (1.0): Introduction to Geography and Geographical skills

The first topic is going to introduce you to mathematical, geographical and map skills and to help you understand why they are all important to succeeding in the IGCSE Geography course. These are skills that you will practise and strengthen as the course develops, so you will be revisiting them in future modules. You will become more confident in extracting information from graphs, diagrams and table, as well as plotting graphs accurately, and being able to recognise patterns and trends in given data. In this topic, we also start to look at the idea of sustainability and the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).
