Topic Four (1.4): Biological Molecules

To begin this topic, you need to list the elements contained in the biological molecules: carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. You must be able to recall how the smaller units build up to form these molecules. You may find it useful to make a table that includes all this information for your revision.

You need to be able to describe specific biochemical tests and the results you would expect for a positive and negative result.

The last area focuses on how proteins have a specific shape. This is due to the specific sequence of the amino acids. This understanding will be essential for enzymes.
