STUDYING ECONOMICS

Economics is a subject which includes the study of how societies, governments, businesses, households, and individuals allocate their resources.  Put simply; Economics is about who does what, who gets what, and what they do with it.

There are many good reasons to study Economics. Firstly, without some knowledge of Economics, it is impossible to understand the world in which we live. Secondly, you will learn about how the economy works and how individuals and firms make decisions to help improve society, both nationally and internationally. Thirdly, Economics is a rigorous and rewarding academic subject which is well respected by Universities and employers alike.

STUDYING WITH WOLSEY HALL

Course Structure

Wolsey Hall IGCSE courses are written around a course book which we have chosen as the best available text for each syllabus. You will be guided through the book by working through a series of online Modules. These have been developed by a subject specialist and include detailed guidance linked to the course book and extensive online resources.

Once you feel that you have achieved all the learning objectives for that Module, you should begin work on the Assignment. You will submit Assignments online, which will be marked by your Course Tutor.  Each Assignment is then returned to you with a grade and detailed feedback within 3 – 5 working days.

This CAIE Economics course consists of ten Modules and concludes with our Exam Prep Module and Mock Examination service.

Course Support

You have been enrolled by your Progress Manager who is available to help you with any administrative issues. She will support you throughout your course and help you keep to your Assignment schedule.

You will begin your course with a Skype introduction with your Course Tutor. Here you will have an opportunity to discuss the course and raise any questions or concerns. From them on, if you require guidance, you will be able to contact your Course Tutor via the Canvas Messaging System at any time.

To help you get the most out of your course, we have produced a comprehensive Course Guide. We ask you please to read it through carefully before you begin your studies.

Best Wishes
