What Does This Course Cover?
All the files required for your Course are uploaded onto our Learning Management System, Canvas. Once you have read through this guide and downloaded a pdf of the POS then you are ready to begin the course.
This self-guided study course is divided into eight modules which cover one section of the syllabus at a time. These modules are:
- Module One: The Basic Economic Problem
- Module Two: The Allocation of Resources
- Module Three: Microeconomic Decision Makers (1)
- Module Four: Microeconomic Decision Makers (2)
- Module Five: Government and the Macroeconomy
- Module Six: Economic Indicators
- Module Seven: Economic Development
- Module Eight: International Trade and Globalisation
Each Module is subdivided into Topics so that you can study the course in manageable chunks. Each Topic is set out as follows:
- Read– this section will include the page references from your coursebook.
- Tasks– these are the required activities that should be completed to develop your understanding of the content.
- Interact- this section includes a worksheet to assess your understanding and ability to apply your knowledge.
- Links– this section will include relevant videos on the syllabus topics.
At the end of each Module, you should complete the End of Module Quiz to test your understanding of material covered in the module. This is a multiple-choice activity that can be completed as many times as you wish to ensure that you have achieved all the learning goals for the Module.
All Wolsey Hall IGCSE courses conclude with the Exam Prep Module. Here you will find guidance to help you revise Economics, as well as accessing a bank of CAIE past papers and mark schemes.
At the end of each Canvas topic and study session pages, you have the option to click the Mark as Done button. This will aid you in easily finding your last point reached after taking breaks from studying.
