Your Coursebook and Resources
Wolsey Hall offers a unique model of offline and online resources to our home schooling students – a model which we have developed based on our many years’ experience of providing home schooling courses to students.
Coursebook
Each subject specialist team carefully selects the best coursebook from which you will study. The coursebook for your Economics course is:
- Essential Economics for IGCSE and O Level (3rd Edition, 2018); ISBN 9780198424895
Throughout the course, we recommend that you try all the questions in the course book – the Programme of Study will highlight which pages you should work through for each Module.
With the rapid evolution of syllabi, coursebooks can sometimes lag a little behind the syllabus. For this reason, it will benefit you greatly to use the media sources available to you to keep in touch with economic and other relevant events and announcements. The BBC, the Daily Telegraph and Guardian newspapers all provide free online access to such information, and they are by no means the only sources. Additionally, amongst other such sites, the website www.tradingeconomics.com Links to an external site. provides very useful economic data and market news for most countries around the world. You can find access to these sites in the General Resources section on Canvas.
Those that we have listed are a small selection of the vast amount that is available in books and on the internet, and you are strongly advised to look beyond what we have listed. Remember that Economics is a controversial subject – it is possible that different resources will have their own bias. Read and watch everything critically and always try to find resources with different perspectives as you make up your own mind.
