Exercise 3, page 13. Study sections A1 and A4 in the Grammatik section at the back of your course book and decide which indefinite article (from the red box) should fill each gap in sentences 1-8.

Exercise 4a, page 13. Use this Phonics practice exercise to help with your pronunciation of ‘au’ and ‘äu.’  Listen to the sentence and separate out the individual words:

Repeat the sentence three times, taking care with your pronunciation!

Exercise 5, page 13.  Either with a partner or working alone create (and say aloud) answers to questions 1-4 (about where you live).  Use the phrases in the pink box on page 13 to help you.

Use the ‘Accommodation Types’ PowerPoint and try to learn how to say the different kinds of houses in German. Why not test yourself with a friend or family member?

‘Look, cover, check’ method for learning vocabulary – have a good look at the German and try to commit it to memory. Cover the words and see if you can write them down correctly!
