Topic Two (1.2): England Before 1066
Introduction
- When they study a famous event in history, such as the Battle of Hastings, historians always try to find out what led up to that event. So, in this topic, we find out how England became the Anglo-Saxon country it was by the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066. Remember to read the content properly before attempting any activities.

- Explain to your observer why Anglo-Saxon England would be attractive to invaders. Think carefully about the natural resources and highly skilled craftsmen that an invader could exploit.
