Introduction
In this topic, you will learn the names of classroom items and understand whether they are masculine, feminine or plural nouns.
Working through your course book
Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:
- Page 18 Exercise 1. Listen to Audio Track 14 and work out which items the students have. Which item is not mentioned?

- Read Gramática on page 18 about masculine, feminine and plural nouns. Then complete Exercise 3 on page 18 by translating the sentences into Spanish.
- Page 19 Exercise 4 – look at the picture and describe it using ‘hay’ and ‘no hay’ (there is/are and there isn’t/aren’t)
- Page 19 Exercise 6 – Complete the poem with the missing words.
- Read Estrategia on page 19. Is there anyone in your family you can practise this with?
