Topic Three (1.3): The Suffragettes
Introduction
You already know that at the start of the 20th century, there was a large gap separating rich and poor. However, there was also a huge gap that separated men from women. A woman’s place was in the home and even if women did the same jobs as men, they were paid less. This module tackles the ways in which women started to protest over the vote. Although it mainly focuses on women’s struggles in Great Britain, it mirrors the struggles that all women have had across the world to gain their right to vote. Remember to read the content properly before attempting any activities.
