Welcome to your Wolsey Hall Part 1 Computing course
This Sample shows One module from the full course and is designed to give you a flavour of the Wolsey Hall approach to home study.
How does a computer work? How are the games we play and the apps we use written? What language does a computer speak? How do devices that will fit into the palm of our hand communicate? How do they even work?
On this course you will learn to take problems and break them down into smaller parts with logical, computational thinking. You will learn how to develop games, build and control microcontrollers and problem-solve. You will look at the basics of how web pages are put together and how data is stored, manipulated and mined for information.
This course will help you develop your computing skills for work when you are grown up, but even if you only use computers for fun you can learn to use them creatively. Using the Hodder International Stage 7 coursebook, the Getting Started with Arduino book, and a range of other resources –web pages, videos, activities and quizzes –you will explore a whole host of topics.
Why not get started by reading the Course Guide.
