Introduction
In this module, you will familiarise yourself with common places in town and what you can do there.
Working through your coursebook
Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:
- Page 96 - Exercise 1: Listen to Audio Track 15 and match what you hear (focusing on the sounds) with the correct picture. Don´t forget to read the ¡Cultura! box about Spanish bullrings (plaza de toros)!
- Page 96 - Exercise 2: Listen to Audio Track 16 and put the places listed in the right order. You should also write what their meanings in English.
- Page 96 – Exercise 3: Practise saying the places aloud to work on your pronunciation.
- Page 97 - Exercise 4: Read the text and choose the five correct sentences from those provided. Don’t forget to read the Gramática box to help you understand the word ‘hay’ in the text!
- Page 97 - Exercise 5: Listen to Audio Track 17 in which Gloria and Fernando describe where they live. Decide which sentences (a-h) relate to Gloria or Fernando.
- Read the Estrategia box on page 97 about strategies to use when translating into Spanish. Then complete Exercise 6: Translate this paragraph into Spanish. Can you do it without a dictionary?
Review
- Complete Exercise 7 on page 97: describe your town or village. Use the text from Exercise 4 to help you.
