Introduction
In this module, you will learn to compare your neighbourhood now with how it used to be, using the imperfect tense.
Working through your coursebook
Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:
- Page 106 Exercise 1 – Read the phrases a-g and decide whether each sentence refers to now (ahora) or a hundred years ago (hace cien años). Read the Gramática box before you do this, as it may help you.
- Read Patrones y Reglas: hace is a very easy and simple way to say how long ago something happened. Can you come up with four examples of your own in addition to those provided?
- Page 106 Exercise 2: Listen to Audio Track 27 and complete the sentences with the correct words.
- Page 107 Exercise 3: Read about Sevilla and choose the correct answer for each question (a,b,c).
- Page 107 Exercise 4: Can you describe Seville now (ahora) and how it was 10 years ago (hace diez años)? Practise saying the sentences out loud.
- Read the Estrategia on page 107 about how to effectively check and revise your work!
Review
- Read the text in Exercise 5 on page 107 and translate it into Spanish. Don't forget to use the tips you read in the Estrategia box to help you!
