Glossary Icon.png  Vocabulary

You need to review the vocabulary for this unit on page 129. Which words do you not know? You might already have built up some good vocabulary learning strategies - perhaps you could make flashcards, or a powerpoint with pictures for the words, or a mnemonic, or an illustrated spider diagram?

Download Icon.png Check your answers

To check your answers to the topics in this course, you will need to consult the teacher pages of the coursebook. This might seem a little confusing at first but you will soon find your way around these. For your first time, take a few moments to orient yourself. Open up the pdf below for Topic 1.1. You might want to open it in a new window so that you do not lose this page.

CHECK - Topic 1.1 Download CHECK - Topic 1.1

You will see a document that resembles a teacher's lesson plan. At the top of the document you will find the details of the pages in Allez 1 on which this lesson is based - it says 7.1 Je vais en vacances, pages 112-113 of Allez 1 student book. This tells you that this is the right answer sheet for the exercises you have done on pages 112 to 113.  If you look further down into the lesson plan, which is set out as a table, and find the section of the table headed 'main', you will see each exercise listed in turn, in numerical order, and at the end of the instructions for each exercise you will find the answers. The answer sheets for all of the topics in this course will look like this, so you will become very confident finding the answers. As long as you check that the page reference at the top of the sheet matches the pages of the exercise you want to mark, you will be fine!

You will have noticed that in the Grammar Alert section of this topic, you had to move to page 122 to do an additional exercise. Because this is on a different page of the coursebook it has a different answer sheet. You will find this below - open it up in a new window now:

CHECK - Topic 1.6 Download CHECK - Topic 1.6

You will see that at the top of this sheet it says 7.7 Labo-langue, pages 122-123 of Allez 1 Student Book. This tells you that this is the right answer sheet for the exercise you did from page 122. And you will find the answers you need under Exercise 1: finir and choisir.

Hopefully you feel more confident now checking the answers. You can always refer back to these instructions later in the course if you need a quick reminder!
