Objectives for this topic
- To learn items that you might take on holiday and to learn the verb prendre in the present tense.
Introduction
In this topic, you will think about what you might pack in your suitcase to take on holiday!
Working through your coursebook
Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:
- Page 114 Exercise 1 – Read the speech bubbles and match the pictures of the items to the speech bubbles where they are mentioned. Check any words you are unsure of in the vocabulary section on page 129.
- Listen to Audio Disc 2 Track 27 and complete Exercise 2 by copying and filling in the table.
- Page 114 Exercise 4 – using a dictionary, find five more items that you might take on holiday with you and note them in your notebook. Use the orange box on page 114 to revise how to use a bilingual dictionary.
- Page 115 Exercise 5 – Read each person’s account of what they are planning to take on holiday and the activities that they are going to do. Then, copy and complete the table in English.
- Let’s practise your dictionary skills again! Complete Exercise 6 on page 115 using the example to help you. Challenge yourself by picking two additional locations and writing two more sentences to describe what you would take! Make sure that you also read the Grammaire section at the bottom of page 115 to revise how to say ‘in’ a country or a city.
