Welcome to the Year 9 Lower Secondary Art and Design course.

This course has been designed to enable students to explore the limitless possibilities that exist both in art and in their own creativity.  They will experiment with new techniques and media through video tutorials and be encouraged to develop a personal style and approach, as well as responding to the world around them. The course will help learners think and respond more independently to their understanding of other artists, such as David Hockney or animation, such as anime. Students will also learn about the art of stencilling through the eyes of street artists such as Banksy.

This course will teach students how to think out of the box and how to use everyday items to create impressive works of art. Each video tutorial will give clear guidance on how to complete each task, with the instructions broken down into manageable chunks. Be prepared to be inspired!
