Topic Three (1.3): Negative numbers
Introduction
Integers are whole numbers and can be positive or negative. Negative numbers have many uses, including describing temperature, and depth below sea level.
Working through your course book
- Go to the MyMaths 1B digital book and watch the video on page 9.
- Now read through the examples of using and combining negative numbers on page 8. Can you think of any other examples of when negative numbers are used? What about when you go down into the basement of a building in a lift.
- Answer the questions on page 9.
