Topic Seven (1.7): Equivalent fractions

Introduction Icon.png Introduction

One half of a chocolate cake is the same amount of cake as two quarters. LaTeX: \frac{1}{2} 12 and LaTeX: \frac{2}{4} 24 are called equivalent fractions, as they represent the same sized part. (Does eating two quarters of a cake sound less greedy than eating a half a cake, even though they are the same amount?)
