Topic Three (1.3): Multiples, factors and prime numbers
Introduction
First you will revise the meaning of the words factors, multiples and prime numbers. You will then compare pairs of numbers and look for the highest factor that is common to both, and the lowest number that is common to both.
Working through your course book
- Read through the information and example on page 8. Make sure that you understand what a prime factor is and how it is used to find the Highest Common Factor (HCF) and the Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) of a pair of numbers.
