Topic Five (1.5): Adding and subtracting fractions
Introduction
In this topic you will revise how to add and subtract fractions by first ensuring equal denominators. You will first apply this to proper fractions, and then to improper ones. The latter are those where the numerator is larger than the denominator.
Working through your course book
- Read the examples on page 54. Make sure that you are able to change a mixed number into an improper fraction.
