  • To get really good at geography, you need to start asking your own questions. Watch the news, read books, or go out and about in your local area, and try to keep the ‘5 Ws’ in mind. The 5 Ws Template Sheet will help you practise:

    • Activity 1 – Try answering the questions in Activity one. If you can’t think of anything these questions might help you:
      • What would you need to survive? Food, water, oxygen, etc.
      • How would you spend your time on Mars? Collecting evidence, taking photos etc. These activities require useful skills.
      • What would you discover? How might this be useful for humanity?
    • Activity 5– You need to make up some questions that would have those answers. If you struggle, how about starting with:
      • What would you use to…?
      • What could help you to…?
      • What is the word that means…?
  • geog.1, pages 10-11 – read through these pages and complete all the ‘Your turn’ activities.
