Module One
In this module, you will be introduced to using fieldwork to collect, analyse and draw conclusions from geographical data; interpret maps, photos and GIS; and use GIS to view, analyse and interpret places and data.
Before you complete Assignment One, there are six topics to complete in Chapter One of geog.2 (pages 5–18) ‘Fieldwork and GIS’. You should work through each topic, reading your coursebook, completing the activities and watching any videos. Remember to take care in your answers to include as much detail as you can. Make the most of the hints and links that we have included.
If you feel that you need more support or are ready for an extra challenge, we direct you to optional resources, many of which are available through Kerboodle.
At the end of each topic, you will review your understanding with a test and will be able to check your answers to the ‘Your turn’ questions from the coursebook.
