Topic Six (1.6): Final Project
Objectives for this topic
By the end of this topic you should be able to:
- Plan the inputs and outputs of a robot-host.
- Apply decomposition and abstraction to a problem.
You might also be able to:
- Evaluate your solutions to a problem.
Introduction
This module has covered a lot of topics, and critically it has covered one of the most difficult concepts: blending real world and theoretical computing. In this topic you will bring together a number of these skills to apply what you have learnt to a practical problem.
Working through your coursebook
Read pages 35 —37 in your Computing Stage 8 book.
- Complete the part 1 activity; discuss the points with your family.
- Complete the part 2 activity to identify the correct digital sound.
- Complete the part 3 activity demonstrating decomposition and abstraction.
- Complete the evaluation activity
Review
Reflect upon the four pages you have just covered. In your notes summarise:
- What you have learnt.
- What you already
- What surprised you.
- What you are curious to know more about.
