Welcome to your Year 7 German course! Did you know that German is an official language not just in Germany but also in Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg? That makes for a lot of German speakers! Excitingly, you are about to join them.

First you will learn to introduce yourself and your family. You will then build vocabulary and grammar around the topics of home, hobbies and school, gradually developing your communication, listening and reading skills. You will absorb so much more than this however! You will find out about the geography of Germany; you will pick up the names of German sports stars and music groups; you will hear of popular German writers; you will discover what makes the German education system distinctive.
