Introduction
In this topic, you will learn how to talk about where you live. You will also learn the pattern of regular verbs in the present tense through the use of the verb wohnen (to live). At the end of this topic, you will be able to complete Assignment 1A.
Working through your coursebook
Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:
- Complete exercise 1 on page 14: listen to the audio as you read the texts. Choose the correct answer to complete each sentence.

- Read the Strategie box on page 14 and try to read the text from exercise 1, following these tips on how to become a better reader.
- Complete exercise 2 on page 15: fill the gaps with the correct forms of wohnen. Look at the Grammatik box if you need help.
- Complete exercise 3 and 4 on page 15: listen to the audio and find out where each speaker lives. Note each person’s opinion about where they live.

- Complete exercise 5 on page 15: create dialogues using the information given.
Extra: why not have a go at saying the dialogues out loud? You could even get a friend or an adult to practise with you!
Review
Think of 3 famous people and write a short paragraph for each of them. Include the following:
- their name
- where they live
- how they find it.
Example: Ich heiße David Beckham. Ich wohne in London. London ist in England. Ich finde London attraktiv und nicht langweilig.

Extra: why not create a poster with the verb forms of wohnen? For example, you could draw an alien with six arms, one for each verb form. This might help you remember it better.
