Coursebook
Each subject specialist team carefully selects the best course book from which you will study. The course book for your Spanish course is:
- Cambridge IGCSE Spanish as a Foreign Language, by Manuel Capelo, Víctor Gonzáles and Francisco Lara (Cambridge University Press, 2017); ISBN: 9781316635537
This coursebook has been developed specifically for the Cambridge IGCSE Spanish syllabus. This means that it is the best book available to help you prepare for your final examination. It is full of engaging activities, up-to-date examples and comes with an audio CD. It follows a skills-based approach to learning Spanish and it focuses on building language expertise. It also includes topics on Spanish-speaking cultures to ensure that you gain the cultural awareness that is at the heart of the Cambridge IGCSE Spanish syllabus. The book is written completely in Spanish so it delivers an immersive learning experience.
We also supply the additional workbook:
- Cambridge IGCSE Spanish as a Foreign Language Workbook, by Manuel Capelo, Víctor Gonzáles and Francisco Lara (Cambridge University Press, 2017); ISBN: 9781316635544
With international content and a skills-based approach, the workbook complements the coursebook perfectly and includes plenty of practical exercises to expand on concepts taught in the units of the course book. It features flexible activities that are ideal for home learning and provides students with the tools to develop their language skills.
Throughout the course, we recommend that you try all the questions in the coursebook; as well as page references in each topic, the Programme of Study (POS) highlights which pages you should read for each module. The POS is a very important document as it shows how the course links to the CAIE syllabus and highlights which pages of the coursebook to read as you progress through the topics and modules. You should download this and keep it with you as you study.
Other resources
In addition to your coursebook, your tutors have sourced lots of interesting and fun resources to support your learning. These include videos, quizzes, worksheets, useful information and, sometimes, games! The resources are linked within the modules and you should make use of these alongside your coursebook work to ensure that you get the very best out of your course.
