Topic Seven (1.7): Improve your writing

to write an account of your first weeks at Wolsey Hall Oxford for the company website.

In this topic, you will use all the new vocabulary and grammar you have been introduced to in this module in an extended written piece of work.

Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:

Page 32 – Read through the instructions carefully before you start writing your article. The instructions have been divided into steps and each one gives you very helpful information. This information would also apply to other written work you may be asked to do. You are asked to discuss some steps in a group– don’t worry if this is not possible, you could ask an adult or a friend. This doesn’t have to be face-to-face, you could also do this on the telephone or by using an online communications tool, such as Skype.
Page 33 – The plan on the second page is very helpful as it gives you suggestions on how to start your sentences. Try to use this as much as possible. It will also help you organise your work.
When you have finished, why not share your work with your tutor? This work will not be assessed but if you feel especially proud of what you have written, your tutor would love to see it!
