Module One Introduction
Welcome to the first module of your Year 8 English as an Additional Language course!
In Module One you will learn about the different ways that people communicate – verbal and non-verbal. This may be through language, body language, emojis and more. We will look at how these differ in different cultures and give opinions. You will find out about the languages spoken in Papua New Guinea, as well as learn some helpful idioms that you can use in your spoken and written English.
You should work through each topic, reading your coursebook, listening to the audio tracks, watching any videos and completing the activities. Remember to check your answers. If you feel that you need more support or are ready for an extra challenge, we direct you to optional resources, which are available in Canvas or online.
When you have completed the topic work, there is an assignment for you to complete.
