Objectives for this topic
- to write a letter to an exchange school.
Introduction
In this topic, you will use all the new vocabulary and grammar you have been introduced to in this module to write a letter to another school about your experience of learning another language.
Working through your coursebook
Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:
- Page 24, Exercise 1 – Read the letter on page 25. There will undoubtedly be words in this text that are new to you and that you do not understand. Make sure that you look up the meaning of these words then write them down. When you are ready, match each paragraph of the letter to the questions in Exercise 1.
- Page 24, Exercise 2 – How would you answer each question in Exercise 1? Write down your answers.
- Page 24, Exercise 3 – Using your answers and following the model letter on page 25, write a draft of your letter. A draft is the first version of a piece of writing. It allows you to put your ideas on paper so you can rethink and rewrite them in a final version.
- Page 24, Exercise 4 – When you have finished your draft letter check it using the questions in Exercise 4.
- Page 24, Exercise 5 – Write out the final version of your letter.
