Please work through the following sections in your coursebook, completing all listed exercises:

  • Page 16 – Do you know what a ‘role model’ is. Write your own definition and give examples of people you think are role models.
  • Page 16, Exercise 1 – Listen to Track 03. You will hear a conversation between Theo, Mai and Leila. What is the conversation about? Look at the pictures on this page. Whose role model is shown in each picture?

LISTEN – Track 03

  • Page 16, Exercise 2 – Listen to Track 03 again and answer the questions. When you are ready, listen one more time to check your answers.
  • Page 16 and 17 – Use of English: Present simple and present continuous. Read the explanations on page 17 and make sure you understand when to use the present simple and the present continuous. Read the examples in the Use of English box on page 16. Write the examples in your notebook. Can you add any more examples? There are further worksheets to complete in the Grammar section of this topic.
  • Page 16, Exercise 3 – Fill in the gaps using the present simple or present continuous form of the verbs.
  • Page 17 – Read the speaking tip advice on how to use ‘anyway’ in a conversation. Listen back to how Mai uses ‘anyway’ in the conversation in Exercise 1.
