How to Submit Music Audio Assignments

1. RECORDING YOUR PERFORMANCE

We recommend using the free, open-source software Audacity to record your assignment, if using a computer.

It allows you to record your assignment, edit the recording if needed, and save the file as a WAV or MP3 file.

WAV files are larger than MP3 files, so if you have a slower Internet connection and struggle to submit your file, we recommend converting it to MP3.

You may also use any other software you prefer. You can upload the following audio file types:

  • WAV
  • MP3
  • WMA

2. SUBMITTING YOUR FILES ON CANVAS

Once your assignment is finished, submit it on Canvas. Be sure to submit both your recording and any extra documents such as sheet music.

  1. Within your course on Canvas, click on ‘Assignments’ in the course menu and then choose the assignment.
  2. Click ‘Start assignment’.
  3. Click 'Choose file'. Select your MP3, WAV or WMA file.
