IGCSE Combined Science Extended 2025-27
Welcome to your Wolsey Hall IGCSE Combined Science Extended Course
STUDYING COMBINED SCIENCE
This Sample shows One module from the full course and is designed to give you a flavour of the Wolsey Hall approach to home study.
Science is important because it gives us an understanding of natural phenomena. Science aims to stimulate our natural curiosity in finding out why things happen in the way they do.
In this Cambridge single award IGCSE course, you will study Biology, Chemistry and Physics, each covered in separate syllabus sections. You will gain an understanding of the basic principles of each subject through a mix of theoretical and practical studies, while also developing an understanding of the scientific skills essential for further study.
STUDYING WITH WOLSEY HALL
Course Structure
Each of our Wolsey Hall courses is written around a specialised coursebook which has been chosen by our tutor team as the best available text for each syllabus. You will be guided through this book by working through a series of online Modules. These course Modules have been developed by a subject specialist and include guidance linked to the course book and extensive online resources. Each Module is divided into syllabus Topics, which are then further broken down into manageable study sessions.
At the end of each Module, there is an interactive quiz which enables you to assess how much of the syllabus you have understood so far. Once you are happy that you have achieved all the learning objectives for that Module, you will begin work on the Module Assignment. The Assignments are submitted online and marked by your Course Tutor. Each Assignment is assessed by your tutor and returned with a grade and detailed feedback.
This CAIE Combined Science course consists of ten Modules and concludes with our Exam Preparation Module and Mock Examination service.
Course Support
When you enrol with Wolsey Hall you will be appointed a Student Progress Manager who is your key point of contact with the College. They will support you throughout your course and help you keep to your assignment schedule.
You will begin your course with a welcome video call with your Course Tutor. Here you will have an opportunity to discuss the course and ask any questions or raise any concerns. You can also have a second call with your tutor during the course and we encourage you to use this opportunity to review your progress so far and talk through any concerns or questions that you may have. For IGCSE Combined Science Extended, this review call should take place after completing the assignment for Module Four.
At other times, if you require guidance, you will be able to contact your tutor via the Canvas messaging system.
We will support you at every stage in your studies. To help you get the most out of your course, we have produced a comprehensive Course Guide. We strongly encourage you to read through this Course Guide before you begin your studies.
Online Tutoring
We are pleased to be able to offer Wolsey Hall students the opportunity to book 1:1 tuition at IGCSE level in English, Maths, Science and Modern Foreign Languages. Each session lasts 45 minutes. Please note that this is an additional service. If we are unable to allocate you a tutor at your preferred time, then you will receive a full refund for any payment made.
