IGCSE Additional Maths 2025-27
Welcome to your Wolsey Hall IGCSE Additional Maths Course
This Sample shows One module from the full course and is designed to give you a flavour of the Wolsey Hall approach to home study.
STUDYING ADDITIONAL MATHS
Additional Maths is a challenging subject; ideal if you’re a Mathematician who has achieved or are likely to achieve a high grade in IGCSE Extended Maths. It is designed to stretch able candidates and provide a smooth transition to A Level. Our course is designed for those who would like to study Additional Maths in parallel with, or after passing IGCSE Extended Maths with an A* - B (or 6 – 9) grade.
Additional Maths will help to stimulate and develop your critical thinking. Concepts introduced in the Extended course are developed further in the areas of Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus. Additional Maths is also designed to help you apply your knowledge and skills in a wide range of situations. This is a course that will help you develop creativity and perseverance in your approach to problem solving.
STUDYING WITH WOLSEY HALL
Course Structure
Wolsey Hall IGCSE courses are written around a course book which we have chosen as the best available text for each syllabus. You will be guided through the book by working through a series of online Modules. These have been developed by a subject specialist and include detailed guidance linked to the course book and extensive online resources.
Once you feel that you have achieved all the learning objectives for that Module, you should begin work on the Assignment. You will submit Assignments online, which will be marked by your Course Tutor. Each Assignment is then returned to you with a grade and detailed feedback within 3 – 5 working days.
Course Support
You have been enrolled by your Progress Manager who is available to help you with any administrative issues. She will support you throughout your course and help you keep to your Assignment schedule.
You will begin your course with a welcome video call with your Course Tutor. Here you will have an opportunity to discuss the course and ask any questions or raise any concerns. You can also have a second call with your tutor during the course and we encourage you to use this opportunity to review your progress so far and talk through any concerns or questions that you may have.
For IGCSE Additional Maths, this review call should take place after completing the assignment for Module Four.
At other times, if you require guidance, you will be able to contact your tutor via the Canvas messaging system.
To help you get the most out of your course, we have produced a comprehensive Course Guide. We ask you please to read it through carefully before you begin your studies.
Best Wishes
