Topics Icon.png Objectives

By the end of this topic, you should be able to:

  • describe the stages of evaluating data
  • suggest ways to improve a practical investigation.

Introduction Icon.png Introduction

Evaluating data is an important skill in Science. You will need to evaluate results you have collected yourself and also evaluate those from other researchers. You need to know how to evaluate the method used and then think about how it could be improved. 'Real' scientists do this all the time - refining their investigations to find out whether their hypotheses are true when they repeat their investigations with one small change.
