STUDYING MATHS EXTENDED

The reason why so many employers highly value mathematics qualifications is that mathematics students become better at thinking logically and analytically. Through solving problems, you develop resilience and the ability to think creatively and strategically. James Sylvester, a British mathematician, called Mathematics “the music of reason”.

In this Cambridge IGCSE course, you will be encouraged to develop mathematical knowledge as a key life skill. The course will develop your competence and fluency with mathematical concepts, methods and skills, as well as providing you with a feel for numbers, patterns and relationships. There is a strong emphasis throughout the course on solving problems and presenting and interpreting results. You will also gain an understanding of how to communicate and reason using mathematical concepts.

STUDYING WITH WOLSEY HALL

Course Structure

Each of our Wolsey Hall courses is written around a specialised course book which has been chosen by our tutor team as the best available text for each syllabus. You will be guided through this book by working through a series of online Modules. These course Modules have been developed by a subject specialist and include guidance linked to the course book and extensive online resources. At the end of each Module, there is an interactive quiz which enables you to assess how much of the syllabus you have understood so far.  Once you are happy that you have achieved all the learning objectives for that Module, you will begin work on the Module Assignment. The Assignments are submitted online and marked by your Course Tutor. Each Assignment is assessed by your tutor and returned with a grade and detailed feedback.

This CAIE Extended Maths course consists of thirteen Modules and concludes with our Exam Prep Module and Mock Examination service.
