This Sample shows One module from the full course and is designed to give you a flavour of the Wolsey Hall approach to home study.
STUDYING BUSINESS
Business Studies is a very practical subject — in essence, it is the study of applying ideas to create or add value to a product or service in order to generate a profit. To run a business you need to learn how to research information using data processing skills and then develop ideas based on that information to solve problems. Business also involves people, so communication and interpersonal skills are vitally important as well.
In this Cambridge IGCSE course, students develop an understanding of business activity in the public and private sectors, and the importance of innovation and change. You will find out how the major types of business organisation are established, financed and run, and how their activities are regulated. Factors influencing business decision-making are also considered, as are the essential values of cooperation and interdependence. You will also learn about employment legislation as well as the ethical and environmental issues that make business a constantly dynamic environment.
