Introduction

We meet the family and begin to learn the nominative case (the subject) of nouns and the present tense of some common verbs, as well as getting to grips with the word order.

Working through your coursebook

Read Stage 1 pages 1-14 (eBook I) and learn the vocabulary at the end of the stage. There are explanations of the grammar points and exercises to help you practice, as well as stories to put it all in context. You do not need to complete all the exercises if you have grasped the grammar points, but reading the stories is a good idea as it allows you to see the grammar in action.
