Topic Six (1.6): Slavery and the imperfect and perfect tenses
Introduction
After several stages practising the present tense, we are now introduced to two more tenses: perfect and imperfect. They are both past tenses. One suggests an action that went on for a long time in the past (Imperfect: I was walking…), whilst the other suggests a completed action in the past (Perfect: I walked.). There are plenty of examples for you to practise on. Notice how each tense is formed.
Working through your coursebook
Read Stage 6 pages 69-82 (eBook I) and learn the vocabulary at the end of the stage.

Quiz
The Cambridge Latin Course is very repetitive but this is good for consolidating the range of information you are presented with. Don’t feel you have to complete every exercise if you have understood something, but do have a go at a variety of exercises.
A good, quick test of how your study of the module is proceeding is Quiz One. This can be done several times to check your progress.
