This Sample shows One module from the full course and is designed to give you a flavour of the Wolsey Hall approach to home study.

Welcome to your Wolsey Hall Year 7 International History course - and hold on to your seats! You are about to travel far and wide…. First stop – the very beginning. Where did modern humans come from? Africa? And how did they spread around the globe? Some big questions here for you to consider, and the important historical skill of source analysis for you to take on board. Then it’s off around the world, to Ancient Egypt first, then Ancient China, India, Greece and Rome. You are going to discover so much about so many different cultures! You will be able to compare political structures, daily life and religious beliefs, while asking yourself what mark these fascinating civilisations have left on today’s world.

A key feature of this course is the opportunity to push your studies further in the directions that interest you. You will do most of your core reading in the digital coursebook, but in every topic in every module you will find suggestions for further investigation, sometimes to support what you have already covered and sometimes to stretch your knowledge and understanding even further. Seize these opportunities!

You will work your way through seven modules, culminating in a comparison of the ancient civilisations you have studied.
