What Does This Course Cover?
This Course is divided into twelve Modules which cover one section of the syllabus at a time. Modules One to Three and Nine to Twelve cover the Core Content Option B and Modules Four to Eight cover the Depth Study of Germany.
These modules are:
- Module One: Was the Treaty of Versailles fair?
- Module Two: To what Extent was the League of Nations a Success?
- Module Three: How far was Hitler’s foreign policy to blame for the outbreak of war in Europe in 1939?
- Module Four: Was the Weimar Republic doomed from the start?
- Module Five: Why was Hitler able to dominate Germany by 1934?
- Module Six: Why was Hitler able to dominate Germany by 1934?
- Module Seven: How effectively did the Nazis control Germany, 1933–45?
- Module Eight: What was it like to live in Nazi Germany?
- Module Nine: Who was to Blame for the Cold War?
- Module Ten: How effectively did the United States contain the spread of communism?
- Module Eleven: How secure was the USSR’s control over Eastern Europe, 1948- c.1989?
- Module Twelve: Paper 2 Skills and Document Practice Questions
- Module Thirteen: Exam Preparation
Each module is subdivided into topics so that you can study the course in manageable chunks; this will help you to get the most out of your coursebook. Each topic begins with an introduction which sets out the learning objective of that topic and how it applies to the syllabus and final exam. Within each topic you will also find the following sections:
Tasks – this section will include the page references from your textbook and lists the required activities from your textbook that should be completed. It will also allow you opportunities to explore various revision methods and skill sets for the exams
Additional Resource Tasks – there will be links to resources that will enhance your understanding of key concepts and will give you an opportunity to apply your knowledge.
Explore and Extend for that A*/Grade 9 – there will be additional resources and tasks for those students who wish to study the topic in more depth.
At the end of each Module, you should complete the End of Module Quiz to test your understanding of material covered in the module. This is a multiple-choice activity that can be completed as many times as you wish to ensure that you have achieved all the learning goals for the Module.
The course concludes with the Exam Prep Module which helps you to prepare for each of the three external papers.
