IGCSE English Literature 2025

Welcome to your Wolsey Hall IGCSE English Literature Course

This Sample shows One module from the full course and is designed to give you a flavour of the Wolsey Hall approach to home study.

STUDYING ENGLISH LITERATURE

Studying English literature opens up a world of inspiration and creativity, while also developing skills that are essential in today's global environment. It is a chance to discover how literature makes sense of the world through stories, poems, novels and plays. It is also provides an opportunity to sharpen your own ability to write, read, analyse and persuade.

In this Cambridge IGCSE course, you will read, interpret and evaluate texts through the study of literature in English. You will learn to recognise and appreciate the ways in which writers use the English language to achieve a range of effects. You will also learn to present an informed, personal response to the material you have studied.

STUDYING WITH WOLSEY HALL

Course Structure

Each of our Wolsey Hall courses is written around a specialised course book which has been chosen by our tutor team as the best available text for each syllabus. You will be guided through this book by working through a series of online Modules. These course Modules have been developed by a subject specialist and include guidance linked to the course book and extensive online resources. Once you are happy that you have achieved all the learning objectives for that Module, you will begin work on the Module Assignment. The Assignments are submitted online and marked by your Course Tutor. Each Assignment is assessed by your tutor and returned with a grade and detailed feedback.

Course Support

When you enrol with Wolsey Hall you will be appointed a Student Progress Manager who is your key point of contact with the College. They will support you throughout your course and help you keep to your assignment schedule.

You will begin your course with a welcome video call with your Course Tutor. Here you will have an opportunity to discuss the course and ask any questions or raise any concerns. You can also have a second call with your tutor during the course and we encourage you to use this opportunity to review your progress so far and talk through any concerns or questions that you may have.

For IGCSE English Literature, this review call should take place after completing the assignment for Module Four.

At other times, if you require guidance, you will be able to contact your tutor via the Canvas messaging system.

We will support you at every stage in your studies. To help you get the most out of your course, we have produced a comprehensive Course Guide. We strongly encourage you to read through this Course Guide before you begin your studies.
