Module One
INTRODUCTION TO PROSE
Introduction
Module One begins by reviewing the different approaches to prose in order to help you to develop your own essay writing skills. It goes on to examine the first few chapters of your set novel, considering in particular the political and social contexts in which any novel is set.
This module should be read in conjunction with the Programme of Study which lists the topics that are in the module and gives you the relevant page references in your coursebook. As you work through the various topics, we will aim to highlight the most important items for you to focus on, as well as areas that require a little more attention. You will also find links to helpful resources that you should use to reinforce your learning.
Remember to double-check with the Syllabus (the relevant section number is listed in your Programme of Study) that you cover all the items that you need to.
