What Does This Course Cover?

This self-guided study course is divided into nine modules which cover one section of the syllabus at a time. These modules are:

  • Introductory Module: Studying Science
  • Module One: Characteristics of Living Things and Cells
  • Module Two: States of Matter and Atomic Structure
  • Module Three: Motion and Thermal Energy
  • Module Four: Nutrition and Transport
  • Module Five: Chemical Bonding
  • Module Six: Work, Energy and Power
  • Module Seven: Respiration and Disease
  • Module Eight: Acids, Bases and Salts
  • Module Nine: Properties of Waves

For Part Two of the course, the modules are:

  • Module Ten: Co-ordination, Response and Reproduction
  • Module Eleven: Metals, Electrochemistry and Chemical Energetics
  • Module Twelve: Electricity, Magnetism and Electric Circuits
  • Module Thirteen: Inheritance, Variation and Selection
  • Module Fourteen: Organic Chemistry
  • Module Fifteen: Electromagnetic Effects
  • Module Sixteen: Organisms, Environments and Human Influences on Ecosystems
  • Module Seventeen: Chemistry of the Environment and Chemical Analysis
  • Module Eighteen: Nuclear Physics and Space
  • Module Nineteen: Exam Preparation

Each module is subdivided into syllabus topics, each one beginning with an introduction which sets out the learning objective of that topic and how it applies to the syllabus and final exam.

Each topic is then further broken down into manageable study sessions.

These are additional links to resources that will help you to enhance your understanding of the key concepts as well as to give you the opportunity to apply or extend your knowledge.

Tasks

These are the required activities you should complete from your coursebook.

At the end of each Module is a Quiz to test your understanding of the material covered. This is a multiple-choice activity that can be completed as many times as you wish to ensure that you have achieved all the learning goals for the module.

All Wolsey Hall IGCSE courses conclude with the Exam Prep Module. Here you will find guidance to help you revise and practise your Maths, as well as accessing a bank of CAIE past papers and mark schemes. 

At the end of each Canvas topic and study session pages, you should click the Mark as Done button. This will aid you in easily finding your last point reached after taking breaks from studying.
