Introduction
This topic is all about alcohol, what it is, the dangers of alcohol and if there are safe levels to drink, especially in pregnancy.

- Read pages 36–37 of your coursebook. With the permission of your parent/carer, look at any bottles of alcoholic drinks they may have. If your family do not drink alcohol, you could carry out some research online. How much alcohol is in each type of drink?

- Make sure that you understand the key words ‘depressant’ and ‘alcoholic’ and that you can explain the dangers of alcohol.
