What Does This Course Cover?

This Fine Art course incorporates the following areas of study:

  • Drawing

  • Mixed Media
  • Printing
  • Painting
  • Sculpture

The course covers two years of study and is divided into thirteen modules, seven in year one and six in year two.

In Year One you will study:

  • Module Zero: an interactive introduction to the International GCSE course, including a quiz to help you recap on prior art study and to let your tutor understand how confident you feel as you start this course.
  • Modules One and Two: a small personal project entitled ‘This Is Me’ in which you will practise and develop your skills and techniques.
  • Modules Three to Five: work begins on your ePortfolio, choosing a theme from a list provided by Wolsey Hall, practising and developing work and eventually curating an ePortfolio for submission to the exam board in year two.
  • Module Six: a mock exam for the ePortfolio submission, followed by a review video call with your tutor to discuss feedback and progress.

In Year Two you will study:

  • Modules Seven and Eight: continue work on your ePortfolio.
  • Module Nine: your externally-set assignment theme is announced on 2nd Jan and this module forms the preparatory work in response to this theme.
  • Module Ten: your externally-set assignment will be done during a ten-hour remote-invigilated exam.
  • Module Eleven: you return to work on your ePortfolio, refining it ahead of formal submission.
  • Module Twelve: complete your personal project in your ePortfolio and submit it to the exam board.
